About Aware: We are a nonpartisan civic technology company that transforms complex government information into clear, actionable content for everyday Americans. We believe democracy works better when citizens understand it—and we need a talented Social Media Manager/Creator to amplify our mission across Instagram, TikTok, and X.
The Role: We're seeking a creative and data-driven Social Media Manager/Creator to own our social media presence. This is a part-time, fully remote position (20hrs/week) with the opportunity to transition to full-time by November 2025 for candidates who exceed expectations.
You'll be responsible for creating engaging content daily, building our online community, and driving measurable growth through strategic social media management. We're looking for someone who can balance creativity with analytics, producing high-quality content while continuously optimizing based on performance data.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of professional social media management experience
- Portfolio of relevant work required (applications without work samples will not be considered)
- Proven track record of growing social media accounts and engagement
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and X algorithms and best practices
- Self-starter who can work independently and meet deadlines without constant supervision
Deliverables:Content Creation:
- Create 5 pieces of short-form content per week (static posts & reels)
- Create 1-2 long-form content pieces per week (edited videos 60+ seconds, carousel posts, or blog content)
- Develop monthly content calendar with strategic planning
- Research trending topics and hashtags relevant to civic engagement and government transparency
Community Management:
- Manage community engagement across 3 platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X)
- Respond to relevant threads on X that align with our brand voice
- Expected response time: within 2-4 hours during business hours
- Build relationships with influencers and accounts in the civic/government space
Analytics & Performance:
- Track and report on key metrics weekly/monthly
- Provide insights and recommendations based on performance data
- Conduct A/B testing on content formats, posting times, captions, and hashtags
- Document testing results and implement winning strategies
- Meet quarterly growth targets (discussed upon hiring)
Technical Requirements:
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
- Video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, or similar)
- Experience with social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite, Later, or similar)
- Familiarity with native platform analytics and third-party analytics tools
Work Details:
- Hours: Part-time (20 hours/week) with flexible schedule
- Availability: Must be available for time-sensitive trending content opportunities
- Location: Fully Remote (US time zones preferred)
- Timeline: Hiring ASAP
- Growth Opportunity: Position can become full-time by November 2025 based on performance
- Reporting: Weekly check-ins for content approval and strategy alignment
