Senior Cloud Data Developer – API Focus

Dublin, Ohio (Fully Remote, US-only)

Quantum Health is hiring a Senior Cloud Data Developer to build and scale cloud-based REST APIs that power web apps, mobile apps, and external integrations. You’ll work across API design, backend engineering, security, domain modelling, CI/CD, and open-source tooling — all while mentoring other developers and influencing standards across the engineering organisation.

What you’ll do

• Build, maintain, and extend enterprise domain models exposed via REST APIs
• Develop backend services including open-source code, CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, security layers (OAuth), and documentation
• Collaborate with business teams to clarify requirements and translate them into technical designs
• Work with other developers and architects to plan scalable, efficient, maintainable API solutions
• Support cloud-based deployments across Linux environments
• Lead knowledge sharing, research emerging technologies, and contribute to internal best practices
• Drive adoption of APIs by improving performance, reliability, and developer experience

What you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, MIS, CIS or similar
• 9+ years backend engineering and REST API development experience
• 5+ years open-source development in a Linux environment
• Experience designing and supporting cloud-deployed tech platforms
• Strong modelling skills for API-exposed business/domain objects
• Hands-on skills across SQL, OAuth/security, data transformations, REST architecture
• Preferred stack: Spring Boot, AWS, Gradle, OpenAPI, Bash, Snowflake, Docker, Git, Nexus
• Experience mentoring developers and articulating complex technical solutions
• Experience working within Agile Scrum environments
• Ability to operate independently with minimal direction
