This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead Apparel Designer in Alabama (USA). This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the creative vision for a high-profile, creator-driven apparel brand. The Lead Apparel Designer will shape graphics across all apparel categories, from core basics to limited-edition drops, ensuring that designs resonate with youth and young adult audiences. You will oversee the design process from concept to production, translate cultural trends into innovative apparel, and mentor a team of contract designers. The position requires close collaboration with product, brand, and licensing teams to maintain design consistency and elevate the brand experience. This is ideal for someone passionate about youth culture, storytelling, and pushing the boundaries of apparel design in a fast-paced, creative environment. Accountabilities:

  • Own and drive the creative vision for all apparel graphics, ensuring brand alignment and youth-market relevance
  • Lead concept development for seasonal collections, limited-edition drops, and culturally relevant campaigns
  • Mentor, guide, and provide feedback to a team of contract designers to maintain high-quality design standards
  • Translate trends, pop culture, and youth-driven aesthetics into commercially viable, innovative designs
  • Manage the full design lifecycle from moodboarding and concept sketches to production-ready tech packs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product developers, brand managers, and licensing teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery
  • Produce clear product mockups and CADs for presentations and approvals, ensuring quality and consistency
  • Innovate on materials, print techniques, and embellishments to enhance the overall product experience

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience designing graphics for apparel brands, ideally in youth, streetwear, or creator-driven merchandise
  • Strong understanding of fabric treatments, print applications, and garment construction
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator required); experience with Procreate, CLO 3D, or other modeling tools is a plus
  • Ability to forecast and respond to fashion, pop culture, and content trends relevant to Gen Z and Gen Alpha
  • Proven portfolio showcasing innovative, fun, and culturally relevant graphics on physical garments
  • Detail-oriented, autonomous, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Experience collaborating across distributed teams and time zones

Benefits

  • Competitive salary with performance recognition opportunities
  • Medical, dental, vision, and company-paid life insurance
  • Company contributions to Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
  • 401(k) plan with Safe Harbor company-matching
  • Flexible vacation policy and paid company holidays
  • Company-provided technology package
  • Relocation support when applicable, including travel and temporary housing for the first 90 days
