Graphic Designer (Contract)

The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) is the union for current professional basketball players in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Established in 1954, the NBPA’s mission is to protect and advance the rights of our players. They are the game.

The NBPA advocates on behalf of the best interests of all NBA players, including through the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, the filing of grievances on behalf of the players, and counseling players on benefits, educational and post-NBA career opportunities. POSITION OVERVIEW:  The Brand Communications (contract) Graphic Designer will assist in executing against brand creative briefs for the NBPA, THINK450 and the NBPA Foundation. The role will primarily support the team’s creation of brand assets for corporate and internal needs (e.g. deck templates, newsletters, HR collateral, etc.), NBPA-owned programs and events, and social media content. The right candidate will display expertise in brand storytelling, content creation and more.

LOCATION: Remote (ability to work EST business hours)

DURATION: 20 hours per week; 3-month contract (with opportunity to extend)

RATE: $70-$100/hour; pay commensurate with experience and agreed upon scope of work

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to multi-task on multiple projects and work under tight timelines
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design tools
• Experience in UX design preferred
• Portfolio showcasing experience in Graphic Design, Brand Creative or Marketing required
• Passion for basketball and the sports industry
