About Sances Sounds

Sances Sounds is an independent mixing and mastering studio based in Chicago, led by engineer Justin Sances. In 2024 alone, over 350+ records were mixed and/or mastered for artists across the EDM and dance genres.

In 2025, we are expanding to reach more artists in pop, hip hop, indie rock, alt-R&B, and mainstream genres.

About the role:

This freelance position is ideal for a music lover or industry connector with strong relationships or outreach skills. Whether you're a manager, artist, label intern, or plugged-in fan, if you have a network and an ear for good music, you can thrive in this role.

What you'll do:

• Identify and reach out to unsigned and signed artists across various genres
• Present our high-quality mixing and mastering services to new potential clients
• Lead conversations with artists and labels to secure bookings
• Represent the Sances Sounds brand with professionalism and enthusiasm
• Track outreach, client status, and support onboarding
• Join occasional check-in calls to align on strategy and progress
• Handle communications regarding project scope, service details, and timelines

Who you are:

• Passionate about music, with an ear for quality across genres
• Confident and professional in written and verbal communication
• Proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple contacts
• Active on Instagram, TikTok, or engaged in artist communities
• Familiar with basic mixing and mastering terminology (a plus, not required)
• Self-driven and entrepreneurial — you enjoy flexible, performance-based roles

Payment & Terms:

This is a performance-based, commission-only contractor role. Full payment breakdowns and examples will be provided during the interview process.
