Our client is a fast-growing AI Insurtech startup building intelligent automation systems designed to modernise how insurance operations, underwriting, and workflow decisioning are handled at scale.

The platform combines AI-driven document intelligence, workflow orchestration, and automation pipelines to reduce heavily manual operational processes from hours to minutes across complex insurance environments.

Following successful Series A funding and strong customer momentum, the business is scaling both its product platform and engineering team as enterprise adoption continues to grow.

They are looking for a highly hands-on Senior Product Engineer with strong Python expertise who enjoys building production systems, solving difficult product and engineering problems, and operating with genuine ownership across product, architecture, backend systems, frontend applications, and infrastructure.

This is a backend-leaning product engineering role within a small, high-calibre engineering team where speed, pragmatism, and execution matter more than rigid ownership boundaries.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building and scaling AI-powered workflow automation systems used in live production environments
• Designing backend services, APIs, orchestration pipelines, and scalable application architecture
• Working across frontend applications, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering depending on business priorities
• Building systems that process large volumes of structured and unstructured operational data and documents
• Collaborating directly with product and design teams to solve real customer workflow and operational problems
• Owning features end-to-end from concept through deployment, iteration, and production scaling
• Improving platform scalability, reliability, observability, and engineering quality as adoption grows
• Helping shape engineering standards, architecture decisions, and product direction during a key growth phase

Tech Environment

• Python

What They’re Looking For

• 5-8 years of commercial software engineering experience with strong Python expertise
• Strong backend engineering capabilities alongside practical frontend experience with React or Angular
• Proven experience building and shipping production-grade SaaS or platform products
• Comfortable operating across multiple areas of the stack depending on business priorities
• Strong understanding of scalable systems, APIs, distributed architecture, and modern engineering practices
• Product-minded engineer with strong execution instincts and a pragmatic approach to delivery
• Comfortable operating within startup or scale-up environments with high ownership and fast iteration cycles
• Engineers who enjoy solving ambiguous product and technical challenges rather than working within narrowly scoped ownership areas

Nice to Have

• Startup or scale-up engineering experience
• Exposure to insurance, fintech, or regulated environments
• Experience building AI-enabled products, automation systems, or LLM-driven workflows
• Experience building customer-facing SaaS platforms
