About Nuj
Nuj is a SaaS platform for regulatory reporting. Superannuation funds and financial services teams use it to prepare, validate and lodge complex regulatory submissions, including APRA SDT and international pensions reporting.
Our users are reporting professionals working to tight deadlines, where accuracy matters. We help them get from raw data to a confident lodgement with less manual effort. We’re now taking a fresh look at our data visualisations and expanding into AI-assisted workflows, and design will play a central part in getting that right.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced UX/UI designer to shape the experience of our cloud-based web platform. The work ranges from refining existing screens to designing new experiences, such as how anomalies in reporting data are surfaced so users can spot them quickly, or how AI suggestions appear in the interface while keeping users in control.
You’ll work closely with our product managers, engineers and data specialists. We move quickly: rather than polishing static mock-ups, we test ideas with fast, working AI-built prototypes and validate them with real users.
What you’ll do
- Design the user experience and interface of features, from early concepts through to validated, build-ready designs.
- Shape the platform's information architecture so complex workflows and data stay clear and easy to navigate.
- Design and improve the platform's core: workflow management, data validation and error correction, and analysis visualisations.
- Test ideas quickly with AI-built prototypes, and run usability testing to validate designs with users.
- Contribute to user research and discovery.
- Own and evolve our design system and component library, and carry out design QA on what’s built.
- Adapt the user experience for new markets as we expand.
What we’re looking for
- Strong information architecture skills and experience building and maintaining design systems and component libraries.
- An open, creative thinker who enjoys designing workflows that don’t exist yet, with the judgement to know when a design is ready to hand over.
- A clear communicator who supports others and enjoys being part of a small, close team.
- Comfort with the pace and change of a growing start-up, and the self-direction to work well in a fully remote, part-time role.
- Senior-level UX/UI design experience, and an interest in complex, data-heavy products.
Bonus points
- A background in desktop B2B products, particularly in SaaS, FinTech or RegTech.
- Experience designing data visualisations, whether embedded analytics tools or custom charting.
- Experience designing conversational or AI-assisted interfaces.
