About the role

Job Overview

Transpacific Technologies, Inc. (TTI) is seeking a CAD Drafter with at least one year of PTC Creo Parametric (formerly Pro/ENGINEER or Pro/E) experience. CAD Drafters will convert existing 3D Creo models into complete, release-ready 2D engineering drawings for tubing assemblies and soft goods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Drawing Production

  • Use PTC Creo Parametric (Creo/Pro/E) to convert existing 3D models into detailed 2D engineering drawings for tube assemblies, including routing views, bend data and tables, end fittings, and assembly callouts.
  • Convert existing 3D Creo models into 2D drawings for soft goods (e.g., fabric covers, blankets, straps, and closeouts), including flat patterns, seam and stitching callouts, material notes, and attachment details.
  • Apply dimensioning and tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.100, and customer drafting standards.
  • Create parts lists, notes, and section, detail, and auxiliary views as required.

Drawing Revisions & Release

  • Incorporate redlines and review comments from engineers and checkers.
  • Check in, revise, and release drawings through the client's PLM system (e.g., Windchill), following configuration management procedures.

Coordination

  • Coordinate with engineers to clarify drawing requirements and resolve model or drawing discrepancies.
  • Participate in virtual team meetings and provide regular status updates to the client lead and TTI Program Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum one (1) year of hands-on experience using PTC Creo Parametric (formerly Pro/ENGINEER or Pro/E), specifically creating and detailing 2D engineering drawings from 3D models.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawing standards, including ASME Y14.5.
  • Ability to read and interpret 3D models and redlined drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet drawing deadlines.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a private, secure home workspace suitable for client-furnished equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or certificate in drafting, CAD, or engineering technology.
  • Experience creating tubing drawings, including bend tables.
  • Experience creating soft goods drawings and flat patterns.
  • Experience with Windchill or a comparable PLM system.
  • Drafting experience in aerospace, spaceflight, or defense.

Success Measures

  • Drawings are completed and submitted on or before assigned due dates.
  • High first-pass acceptance from checkers, with minimal redline and rework cycles.
  • Drawings consistently comply with ASME and client drafting standards and configuration management procedures.
  • Clear, timely communication with engineers and the TTI Program Management.
  • Full compliance with export control, data security, and client equipment requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • This position is primarily sedentary and requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively by telephone, video conference, and digital communications.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds, such as when receiving, setting up, or returning client-furnished computer equipment.
  • Travel is not anticipated; occasional travel to a client site may be requested with advance notice.
