About Accelerant

Accelerant is changing how specialty insurance works. We bring Members (MGAs) and Risk Capital Partners together through a modern, AI-powered SaaS platform. By reducing friction and improving decision-making, our platform helps our partners grow more confidently and sustainably.

We're solving complex insurance challenges by combining thoughtful design, intelligent technology, and deep industry expertise. If you're excited by meaningful problems and want to build tools that empower users to succeed, we’d love to talk.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of our platform. You’ll work on high-impact design problems in a fast-moving environment—leading discovery, shaping strategy, and delivering solutions that are clear, scalable, and effective.

You’ll join a senior team of product designers with broad ownership, working closely with product and engineering peers to shape both product direction and team practices. This is an individual contributor (IC) role with high autonomy and strong cross-functional influence.

You’ll work on tools that support underwriting decisions, surface data insights, and simplify complex workflows for specialty insurance providers and capital partners. Example areas include streamlining complex data flows across multiple user roles and decision points.

We're looking for someone who brings strong design skills and a collaborative mindset—someone who works with care for the success of teammates, stakeholders, and our customers. You see your work not just as a contribution to a product, but as a way to help others succeed.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive design efforts across the product lifecycle—from discovery through delivery.
  • Conduct research to understand user needs and product opportunities.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final visuals across web-based products.
  • Contribute to the design system and help maintain quality and consistency at scale.
  • Translate AI- and data-heavy workflows into usable, trustworthy, and efficient experiences.
  • Lead workshops and co-design sessions to align cross-functional teams around problems and opportunities.
  • Experiment with and adopt AI tools to enhance ideation, prototyping, research, and content workflows.
  • Contribute to a positive, open, and thoughtful team culture.
  • Work closely with product and engineering peers as a thought partner—bringing structure and clarity to ambiguous problems and shaping early product thinking.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong end-to-end product design experience across complex applications.
  • Ability to design clear, data-rich interfaces for professional users.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and owning work from concept through implementation.
  • Fluency in Figma and modern design and prototyping tools.
  • Experience designing AI-assisted or data-driven workflows is a strong plus.
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and rationale-explaining skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience conducting discovery research and facilitating workshops.
  • Experience designing workflows that involve structured data entry or complex rules logic.
  • Experience designing UX for AI-powered features, including explainability, feedback, and trust-building mechanisms.
  • Strong prototyping capabilities with an emphasis on communicating nuanced interactions.
  • Contribution to or stewardship of a design system.
  • Familiarity with insurance or financial services is helpful but not required.

Working at Accelerant

  • Remote-first - We’re distributed across North America and Europe. This role can be based in the U.S., Canada, or U.K.
  • Flexible time off - We trust you to balance work and rest.
  • Health coverage - High-quality medical, dental, and other benefits.
  • Travel - Occasional opportunities to connect in person with teammates and Members.
