The Role

We’re seeking a Product Design Lead with 10+ years of product design experience at an agency, studio, or client-side. We’re looking for someone with world class design skills who can see a platform, website or app through from start to launch.

Qualifications

• A high-caliber portfolio showcasing a variety of complex products and demonstrating strong visual design, UI/UX, prototyping, typography, and visual hierarchy.
• Masterful knowledge of user-centric and data-informed product design. Strategic decision making based on data, research, analytics, business strategy and market context. 
• Experience designing mobile apps, web products, marketing websites and more. 
• Experience planning and facilitating design workshops, client reviews, user research and user testing
• The ability to lead design projects from start to finish with autonomy and authority — including but not limited to discovery, ideation, workshops, definition, high fidelity design, design systems, hand off, visual quality assurance, etc.
• Work collaboratively with the design team to solve complex product and UI challenges, contributing hands-on design work when needed. Provide feedback and guidance, making sure work meets high visual standards and is inclusive of best practices. 
• Lead, mentor and guide designers on an individual and team level, providing high level strategic design feedback and direction.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate and defend design decisions to stakeholders 
• A willingness to define and navigate ambiguity, pivoting quickly with changing priorities 
• A proactive and open attitude with the ability to ask questions in times of uncertainty or ambiguity 
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines 
• Figma expert knowledge and a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

Nice To Have

• Branding or art direction experience
• Illustration or crafting experience 
• Experience in motion graphics/3D modeling software such as After Effects, Blender, Cinema4D, etc
• Experience with other tools such as Unreal Engine, Unity, Framer, Webflow, etc
• Passionate curiosity about the internet, design, trends, and culture
• An overall technical knowledge and general curiosity in future-forward tech

Environment:

Big Human is based in New York City, but all of our employees work remotely (and we do get together often). Some positions may require occasional travel. We are currently looking for US-based applicants only; this position will work EST hours.
