Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled BIM Detailer / 3D Specialist to join our team on a part time remote contract basis for 15 to 20 hours per week. This position offers flexible work hours and scheduling to accommodate the right candidate. The role involves creating and modifying 2D and 3D models and drawings from conceptual design through successful installation, with a focus on electrical and specialty system construction. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong collaboration skills to support multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D models using Revit and/or Tekla based on contract documents
• Develop models for electrical components and specialty systems, including custom families
• Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks
• Validate design documents, identify discrepancies, and issue RFIs for resolution
• Update 3D models with design revisions, RFI responses, and submittals to maintain accuracy
• Support pre-construction by providing visualization, model-based take-offs, and assistance with 4D scheduling
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to ensure constructability
• Provide graphical support for proposals, presentations, and marketing efforts

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in BIM detailing or modeling

• Proficiency in Revit is required, with additional experience in Tekla, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and BIM 360 preferred

• Strong knowledge of design, documentation, and construction processes

• Field construction experience

• Experience in model-based layout, visualization, and 4D scheduling

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines while working independently
