Lead Product Designer
Job Description
Posted on: February 10, 2026
Crossing Hurdles is a global recruitment firm partnering with a fast-growing, design-forward consumer fitness platform delivering world-class strength training programs from elite coaches.
The product is a subscription-based mobile app with exceptionally high retention and engagement, recently scaling from $3M to $60M ARR, now profitable, and entering its next major growth phase.
The company is post–product market fit, expanding beyond workouts into nutrition and community, and is investing heavily in design to support new platforms, features, and global scale.
Role: Lead Product Designer (IC)
Compensation: $200k–$250k base + competitive equity
Location: Remote-friendly (US time zones only; Austin optional)
Experience: 7–10+ years Product Design (consumer mobile apps)
Platform: iOS-first (Android & international expansion ahead
About The Role
- Own end-to-end product design across core consumer experiences — from discovery and concepting through high-fidelity execution and launch.
- Design beautiful, intuitive, consumer-grade mobile experiences used daily by a highly engaged subscriber base.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to Product and Engineering while remaining deeply hands-on in Figma.
- Translate ambiguous product opportunities into clear UX direction, visual hierarchy, and interaction models.
- Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect, production-quality implementation.
- Influence broader design systems, brand evolution, and product cohesion as the product scales into new surfaces (nutrition, community, Android, international).
- Operate as a senior IC-first leader in a lean, high-ownership environment with minimal bureaucracy.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience as a Product Designer, ideally at consumer-facing, subscription-based mobile apps.
- Proven ability to ship high-craft iOS experiences that drive real user engagement and retention.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating taste, clarity, simplicity, and practical UX judgment.
- Experience working in fast-paced startups or high-agency environments with limited process overhead.
- Comfortable owning large problem spaces and making decisions with incomplete information.
- Strong collaboration skills with Product Managers and Engineers.
- Passion for staying hands-on — this is not a people-management role.
Why you should consider this opportunity
- Own core consumer experiences where design directly drives growth and retention.
- Join at a rare moment: profitable, pre–Series C, with massive untapped surface area (Android, international, freemium).
- Work alongside a team of senior ICs with high autonomy and very few meetings.
- Ship fast — ideas move from concept to production in weeks, not months.
- Build a product people genuinely love and rely on for their health and strength.
- Opportunity to level up craft while working with modern tooling and AI-forward workflows.
