Position Summary

The Digital Illustrator will play a key role in bringing Deliverance Charities’ stories, campaigns, and educational materials to life through impactful visuals. This position combines creativity, empathy, and storytelling — helping translate our mission into art that resonates emotionally with supporters, clients, and partners.

You will collaborate with the Content Strategy, Digital Marketing, and Resource Development teams to create original illustrations for:

  • Storytelling projects (Tales from the Unfortunate, Tales Along the Way)
  • Awareness campaigns (Community Issues, Rebuild Program, Acts of Kindness)
  • Fundraising materials, event promotions, and merchandise designs

Key Responsibilities

  • Create original digital illustrations that capture the tone and emotion of Deliverance Charities’ stories and campaigns.
  • Design visual assets for blogs, newsletters, social media, and event marketing.
  • Develop illustrated characters, backgrounds, and story scenes for the Tales from the Unfortunate and Tales Along the Way series.
  • Collaborate with writers and the web content team to produce cohesive visual-story projects.
  • Design illustrations for educational materials, infographics, and reports.
  • Prepare artwork for print and digital use (including shirts, flyers, or digital downloads).
  • Contribute creative ideas to enhance storytelling and campaign visuals.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient in digital illustration tools (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, composition, and emotional tone.
  • Ability to adapt art style to match existing brand identity.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for social impact, storytelling, and community development.
  • Portfolio demonstrating storytelling-focused or character-based illustration work.

Work Environment: Our team is collaborative and supportive, using tools Google Gmail, Chat and Space to stay connected and work efficiently.

Schedule:

  • Self-determined schedule
  • At least 5 hours a week, anything more is appreciated
  • Monthly updates and check-ins submitted via email or chat.
