Freelance Graphic Designer__Editorial & Marketing Support
Digiday Media (Remote – NYC Time Zone)
Digiday Media is seeking a freelance graphic designer to support editorial and marketing initiatives across Digiday, Glossy, Custom Intelligence, and Modern Retail. This role reports directly to the Chief Creative Officer and focuses on high-volume creative execution across digital, events, and marketing projects.
This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career designer or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience working across established media brands. We are looking for someone highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, with strong typography skills, solid editorial instincts, and the ability to execute efficiently within established brand systems.
Location & Collaboration

Role Focus:
This is a production and execution-focused freelance role. You will primarily support asset creation, formatting, and refinement across multiple brands and initiatives.
This position is ideal for a designer who enjoys hands-on creative work and can move efficiently across high-volume projects.
This is a production design role focused on visual execution rather than marketing strategy or standalone illustration work.
Core Responsibilities:
- Execute and adapt creative assets across editorial and marketing projects
- Resize and format artwork for multiple platforms
- Lay out ads and marketing campaigns in Creatopy (required)
- Composite sourced and AI-generated imagery into clean editorial visuals
- Build and refine event decks and presentation materials
- Clean up and polish existing visuals to meet brand standards
- Support high-volume creative production across Digiday Media brands
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Strong typography skills and editorial layout sensibility
- Ability to create clean vector illustrations
- Experience building ads and marketing creative in Creatopy (required)
- Strong visual judgment when sourcing, generating, and compositing imagery
- Organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and able to manage multiple deadlines
- Comfortable collaborating in Slack
*Portfolio demonstrating strong typography, editorial layout, and digital design work is required__Nice to Have:
- Procreate illustration skills
- Basic After Effects knowledge
- Familiarity with Figma
- Interest in incorporating AI tools into workflow
This is a hands-on freelance opportunity to contribute to high-visibility projects while building real-world experience across editorial, marketing, and events creative.
Compensation:
Freelance hourly rate of $29/hour, maximum 40 hours per week.
