In this role, you will contribute to the design and enhancement of user interfaces and experiences for complex software systems, working across the full product lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders and developers to translate requirements into intuitive, visually polished designs. The position emphasizes both creativity and technical feasibility, requiring you to develop wireframes, mockups, and prototypes while ensuring consistency and usability across applications. You will participate in workshops, gather user feedback, and support design governance to improve existing products and develop new features. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on user experience in mission-critical software while working in a collaborative, fast-paced, and remote-friendly environment.

  • Accountabilities:
  • Design mockups, wireframes, and end-to-end user flows for new features and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Facilitate workshops and sessions with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather requirements and validate concepts.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into clear, visually polished design artifacts such as user journeys, interaction flows, and prototypes.
  • Develop and maintain system-level documentation, including diagrams and conceptual models to support understanding of the product.
  • Partner with front-end developers to ensure design feasibility, accuracy, and consistency across applications.
  • Maintain a UX backlog for existing applications, identifying areas for improvement and standardization.
  • Contribute to design standards, component patterns, and UI guidelines across multiple applications.
  • Conduct user research and usability validation as needed to ensure designs meet user needs and business objectives.
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience collaborating directly with developers on mockups, wireframes, and user flows.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) systems such as C2, ABM, or similar is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles and concepts, accessibility, and web standards.
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools, including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Photoshop (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present design rationale to technical teams, executives, and stakeholders.
  • Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to balance creativity with technical feasibility.
  • Benefits:
  • Competitive salary based on experience and location.
  • Remote work flexibility within the United States.
  • Professional development opportunities and access to the latest design tools and technologies.
  • Inclusive work environment emphasizing diversity, equity, and collaboration.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage (location-dependent).
