About the role

Company Description

Raw Mosaic is a creative production studio specialising in refined photography, cinematic film, and visual storytelling for brands, spaces, and people.

We produce considered visual work across property, architecture, lifestyle, brand campaigns, social content, and commercial storytelling. Combining strong creative direction with polished production, Raw Mosaic helps modern businesses communicate visually with clarity and intention.

Our work ranges from premium property films and architectural photography to lifestyle campaigns, brand stories, interviews, events, and social-first content.

We value strong visual judgement, attention to detail, efficient workflows, and storytelling that feels purposeful rather than formulaic.

Role Description

Raw Mosaic is looking for a casual or part-time Video Editor to support our growing post-production workload.

The role is primarily remote, although Sydney-based candidates are preferred due to the occasional need to receive and return physical footage, storage drives, or project media.

Candidates must be based in Australia, have reliable high-speed internet, and have access to a workstation capable of handling professional post-production workflows.

You will work closely with Raw Mosaic’s directors and producers to edit cinematic property films, brand stories, lifestyle content, interviews, social media content, and other commercial productions.

The role includes assembling and refining footage, colour grading, sound balancing, basic graphics and motion elements, preparing multiple deliverables, organising media, and maintaining consistency with Raw Mosaic’s visual style.

This role suits an editor who can work independently, interpret creative direction well, and deliver polished edits without requiring constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Edit property films, real estate videos, brand content, lifestyle films, interviews, social media videos, and commercial content.
  • Work primarily within DaVinci Resolve for editing, colour grading, media management, and delivery.
  • Organise project media, timelines, audio, graphics, selects, proxies, and project files according to Raw Mosaic’s workflow.
  • Perform professional colour correction and colour grading across Canon cinema and mirrorless camera footage.
  • Work with Canon RAW footage up to 7K resolution, including projects requiring significant processing and storage capability.
  • Interpret creative briefs, references, music direction, shot selections, and feedback from directors and producers.
  • Develop pacing, structure, music, sound design, and visual rhythm appropriate to each project.
  • Create basic motion graphics, titles, overlays, captions, and branded graphical elements where required.
  • Prepare exports and deliverables for multiple platforms including Instagram, YouTube, websites, presentations, and client delivery.
  • Produce different aspect ratios and social versions when required.
  • Maintain organised project files and follow established naming, folder, backup, proxy, and media-management procedures.
  • Manage revisions efficiently and accurately from consolidated client and director feedback.
  • Occasionally receive and return physical footage, hard drives, SSDs, or other media when required.
  • Collaborate with the Raw Mosaic team during Sydney business hours when projects require real-time communication or urgent turnaround.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of professional video editing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience editing real estate and property video content.
  • Strong experience in commercial, brand, lifestyle, corporate, architectural, or social video production is highly regarded.
  • Strong proficiency in DaVinci Resolve is essential.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, or other post-production software is beneficial, but DaVinci Resolve should be your primary editing platform.
  • Strong understanding of professional colour correction and colour grading.
  • Experience working with Log and RAW cinema workflows.
  • Ability and hardware capacity to edit and colour grade Canon RAW footage up to 7K resolution.
  • Strong understanding of codecs, proxies, frame rates, colour spaces, delivery formats, and media management.
  • Good sense of pacing, composition, music, sound design, narrative structure, and visual storytelling.
  • Ability to interpret creative references and reproduce an established visual style consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with colour consistency, audio, transitions, titles, graphics, and final delivery.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate clearly with the production team.

Technical Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • Their own professional editing workstation capable of handling high-resolution cinema footage.
  • Reliable high-speed internet suitable for transferring large project files, proxies, exports, and production assets.
  • DaVinci Resolve Studio or equivalent professional Resolve setup.
  • Adequate local storage for active projects.
  • Reliable backup practices for project files and supplied media.
  • A colour-appropriate editing environment and suitable monitoring setup for professional colour work.

Location

Candidates must be based in Australia.

Sydney-based candidates are strongly preferred, particularly those located within reasonable travelling distance of Western Sydney, Inner West Sydney, or surrounding areas.

The role is primarily remote; however, there may occasionally be requirements to collect, receive, or return physical media or attend the Raw Mosaic workspace for particular projects.

Employment Structure

This position will initially be offered on a casual or part-time basis, depending on experience, availability, and workload.

Hours may vary based on production schedules and active projects.

There is potential for the role to grow as Raw Mosaic expands its internal post-production team.

Portfolio Requirement

Applicants must provide a portfolio, showreel, or links to previous editing work.

Please include examples that clearly demonstrate your own editing contribution.

Examples of the following are particularly valuable:

  • Real estate / property films
  • Architecture
  • Lifestyle content
  • Brand films
  • Commercial content
  • Interviews
  • Social media content
  • Colour grading work

Please specify your role on projects where multiple editors or production companies were involved.

Applications without relevant work samples may not be considered.

Additional Requirements
  • Must have the legal right to work in Australia.
  • Must be comfortable handling confidential and unreleased client material.
  • Must follow Raw Mosaic’s data-security, backup, file-management, and media-handling procedures.
  • Must be reliable with deadlines and communicate early if delivery timelines may be affected.
  • Must be comfortable receiving structured creative feedback and implementing revisions accurately.
  • Experience working within collaborative DaVinci Resolve / Blackmagic Cloud workflows is highly regarded.
  • Experience with proxy workflows, remote editing, NAS-based workflows, and large-file media transfers is highly regarded.

What We Value

Raw Mosaic is looking for someone with strong technical skills, but equally important is visual judgement.

We value editors who understand when an edit needs energy and when it needs restraint; who can recognise a strong shot; who understand architecture, space, movement, rhythm, light, and emotion; and who can turn good footage into a cohesive visual story.

  • We are looking for someone who wants to become a trusted part of our post-production workflow rather than simply complete isolated editing tasks.
