Staff Full Stack Engineer, Web App

About the Opportunity:

The organization is developing an advanced AI platform for discovering and developing clean energy and mineral resources. The platform uses generative AI, foundation modeling, and autonomous decision optimization to improve the identification, measurement, characterization, and production planning of critical resource deposits. The team is expanding to enhance technology and support deployment with mineral and clean energy partners.

Responsibilities:

• Own the web application end to end, including architecture, implementation, quality, performance, and operations.

• Lead incremental feature delivery for a greenfield product, shaping milestones and sequencing work into shippable slices.

• Develop core UI flows for interacting with exploration outputs, including data-heavy views and 3D geological visualizations.

• Design clean interfaces to backend services covering APIs, authentication, permissions, data contracts, error handling, and versioning.

• Create resilient, fault-tolerant frontend and backend systems with clear operational ownership.

• Establish software development standards including code quality, testing strategy, code reviews, release discipline, and documentation.

• Design and evolve data storage patterns (relational or NoSQL) with schema design, migrations, and integrity constraints.

• Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for critical application paths.

• Configure monitoring and alerting to detect downtime and performance issues promptly.

• Engage with stakeholders and end users to gather requirements, validate usability, and promote adoption.

• Coordinate with design support as needed, maintaining strong product judgment and high standards.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated ownership of a production web application, including operational experience.

• Strong proficiency in Python sufficient for backend service development and technical decision-making in a Python-first environment.

• Solid frontend fundamentals including component design, state management, performance optimization, and accessibility; React experience is a plus.

• Ability to define architecture and standards in ambiguous settings and to deliver results with minimal process overhead.

• Experience designing and maintaining evolving database schemas.

• Familiarity with cloud and modern deployment environments; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
