About Rentbird

Rentbird offers a platform and app (iOS, Android, web) that helps house hunters discover housing properties much faster and without hassle, thanks to a smart system of scrapers and automations, and (increasingly) AI-powered systems. . As a full-stack developer, you'll play a key role in evolving the platform and building new features across both the front- and backend.

What you'll be doing:

• Developing new features for our platform, both frontend and backend, using Laravel, NodeJS, and Vue or React
• Maintaining and optimizing our automatic scraper system (TypeScript), which collects and processes housing data
• Utilize AI to enhance scraping robustness, parsing accuracy, and data classification
• Working with large datasets in a MySQL database
• Writing robust automated tests to ensure platform stability
• Monitoring and expanding our infrastructure using tools like Docker, RabbitMQ, and AWS S3

Your profile:

• You’re energetic and deeply passionate about your field. Getting up and enjoying your work every day is second nature to you
• You're highly ambitious and a natural leader — you’re comfortable in a lead developer role and eager to grow into a Head of Dev position
• You work independently and enjoy digging deep into complex technical challenges
• You can switch between tasks as needed (we’re a startup, so we make quick decisions often)
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Laravel, NodeJS, and Vue / React
• Experience with monolithic Laravel applications, preferably using Inertia and VueJS
• Solid experience with MySQL, Docker, and setting up CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with scrapers and tools like Puppeteer, Selenium, or Playwright is a big plus
• Experience with utilizing AI/LLMs for use cases like discovering new housing sites, automating data extraction from unstructured or dynamic content, and classifying and enriching listing data
• Experience with or willingness to work with tools like RabbitMQ, Grafana/Loki, and Stripe for payments
• Remote work is a plus for you; you enjoy flexibility and working from wherever you want
• You’re 100% fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing). Dutch is a plus.
