Asia Pacific Business Development Manager

We're hiring for multiple Technical Sales and Business Development positions, across both mid and senior levels for one of our trusted global clients. As a highly regarded, market leading OEM of Mechanical Power Transmission products, this organisation provide tried and tested solutions into industry sectors such as Mining, Power, Steel, Agriculture and Forestry, amongst many others.

The DNA

The ideal candidate will seek out new relationships and new business opportunities, whilst assuring that they provide a high level of service and care to existing OEM customers and distribution partners. We're not looking for a box seller or an order taker. We're looking for somebody who enjoys getting to the bottom of a problem, somebody who listens and takes the time to understand their customers' needs, and somebody who can also provide valuable solutions. The ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with customers will be pivotal to success in this role. Responsibilities

  • Develop a sales strategy for the Asia-Pacific region
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key Distributors, OEM’s and special accounts
  • Make sales visits to customer locations to understand customer business needs, identify opportunities and provide product training
  • Provide customers with support in relation to orders, configurations and quotes
  • Identify news markets, geographies and establish new channel partnerships
  • Preparation of business activity reports, sales forecasts, and forecasting of revenue potential for the Asia-Pacific region
  • Track and report project opportunities, pipeline and continually monitor strategic goals and budgets
  • Provide industry and customer support in relation to products and design requests
  • Proactively take part in trade shows and conferences, assuring the continued development of business relationships and opportunities

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Mechatronic engineering or trade qualification (Preferred but not essential)
  • 5 years' prior industry related sales/business development experience
  • Sales experience in gearboxes, engines, bearings, couplings, belts, conveyors, chains, brakes, clutches
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills and relationship development abilities
  • High technical aptitude with a mechanical bias, power transmission experience highly desirable
  • Proven knowledge and execution of successful development strategies
  • High level of accountability, integrity and transparency
  • Experienced in effectively managing project timelines, pipeline, budgets and customer expectations
  • Highly self motivated, willing to travel, and want to develop in your career

This opportunity is a home based/field based position with regular travel both interstate and internationally. We're looking for the right people, therefore the salary on offer is commensurate with experience and negotiable. A vehicle allowance, uncapped profit share bonus and superannuation make up the rest of the package.
