Role Description

We are seeking a Freelance Textile Designer to join us on a project basis. This is a remote role based in Ireland, where you will be responsible for developing unique textile concepts and designs that reflect our brand values of heritage, luxury, and sustainability.

As a key creative partner, you will help shape the textures, patterns, and materials that define Softday’s product range, ensuring that each piece feels both timeless and contemporary.

Responsibilities

  • Develop original textile designs and patterns aligned with our brand vision
  • Research and interpret cultural, heritage, and environmental inspirations into fabric concepts
  • Collaborate with the founding team to refine textile direction for upcoming collections
  • Source sustainable materials and explore innovative production techniques
  • Prepare technical specifications and design files for production partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong skills in textile design
  • Proficiency in design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, CAD for textiles, or similar)
  • Knowledge of sustainable materials and textile processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and creativity
  • Previous experience in fashion, interiors, or luxury goods is a plus
