Your work schedule can be flexible, as long as you meet all job responsibilities and attend regular virtual meetings as needed during normal business hours. Location: Remote (US-based) Job classification: Freelance/Temp to Permanent (Non-Exempt, part-time hourly) This job reports to: Craig Goebel, Senior Designer Who We Are Tangible (http://www.tangible.co) is a product marketing, product design, and design thinking agency. We solve complicated marketing and design problems for tech brands at every stage of growth. Our home office is in San Francisco, CA, but we are remote by design, with employees spread across the country. We have team members who typically work between 20-40 hours a week on project assignments for our clients. What We're Looking For We need a Designer who excels at working within design systems and bringing creative concepts to life with precision. You'll primarily focus on executing and implementing design solutions within established frameworks, while occasionally contributing to creative concept development under guidance. This role requires someone who can balance attention to detail with efficient execution — implementing approved design directions within existing design systems while supporting creative development when needed. We're looking for strong production skills, including image optimization for web and digital platforms, preparing assets for various mediums, and ensuring design quality through technical execution. You should be comfortable handling projects from creative brief to final deliverable, with the technical know-how to ensure designs are implemented correctly. We value designers with a growth mindset who are eager to learn and improve their craft. While you'll need to be technically proficient in production work, we're equally interested in your passion for design and willingness to take on new challenges. Above all, you'll have a keen eye for detail and organization, particularly in maintaining clean Figma files that support team collaboration. Your Mission As a Designer at Tangible, you'll focus primarily on skilled execution and implementation within a highly collaborative team environment. You'll work within established design systems and brand guidelines to create high-quality visual solutions, supporting senior team members in creative development when needed. You'll refine and implement design directions with precision, ensuring consistency across all deliverables. Throughout all projects, you'll collaborate closely with fellow designers, strategists, copywriters, and project managers under the guidance of senior team members. You'll help ensure design implementation is as flawless as the concepts themselves, working with developers to bring designs to life without compromise. Your success will come from your technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in our collaborative culture. Key Responsibilities
- Execution & Implementation: Work confidently within existing design systems and brand guidelines to create consistent, high-quality visual solutions across multiple touchpoints
- Design System Application: Apply clients' design systems effectively across various brand materials and digital experiences, following established patterns and conventions
- Visual Design Production: Produce excellent visual design across mediums, including UX/UI components, marketing materials, and digital experiences within established frameworks

- Creative Support: Contribute to creative concept development under the guidance of senior designers, bringing fresh ideas while staying within brand parameters
- Developer Collaboration: Create clear annotations, specifications, and optimized assets for developers, ensuring smooth implementation across web, email, PDFs, and other digital formats
- Digital Asset Management: Work efficiently with client DAM systems to leverage existing assets and contribute new ones according to established protocols
- Quality Focus: Ensure all design deliverables meet Tangible's high standards and are error-free before handoff
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within cross-functional teams, participating in strategy discussions and providing design input when needed
- Adaptability: Jump into projects at various stages, adapting quickly to project needs and timelines while maintaining quality standards
Essential Skills (Must-Have)

- Implementation Knowledge: Experience preparing and annotating files for developer handoff; understanding of design requirements for web and mobile platforms
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively within teams, give and receive feedback constructively, and balance independent work with collaborative problem-solving
- Portfolio: Demonstrating ability to work within established design systems while maintaining visual quality and consistency
- Software Proficiency: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Google Workspace, familiarity with project management and communication tools
- Education: No formal requirements, as the experience requirement qualifies as equivalent experience to a bachelor's degree in design-related field
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a remote environment

- Basic prototyping skills
- Print design experience and Adobe InDesign knowledge
