📍 Remote-Friendly (Sydney, Brisbane, or Adelaide preferred) | 🕒 Full-Time | 💼 Permanent

💰 $110K–$130K AUD + SuperBe the Quality Engine in a Scaling SaaS Team

Our client is a fast-growing SaaS company building modern tools that support real-world care delivery. With a cloud-first platform and a product-led culture, they’re on a mission to bring better systems to an underserved and rapidly evolving sector.

As the company scales, they're hiring their first dedicated Quality Engineer to help build a world-class approach to automated testing, release confidence, and quality assurance. You'll be instrumental in embedding quality into the heart of the engineering lifecycle — shaping processes, influencing tooling, and ensuring the reliability of a critical platform from the inside out.

🧠 Tech Stack Overview

The platform currently runs PHP fullstack with a MySQL database, hosted on AWS. The team is actively migrating to a modern C# backend architecture and building a React + TypeScript frontend, leveraging AWS services across the stack. This is a great time to join if you’re excited about quality engineering during a major technology upgrade and platform evolution.

🔧 About the Role

This is a hands-on, high-ownership opportunity for a quality-minded engineer to establish automated testing practices and QA systems from scratch. You’ll work side by side with a talented, collaborative development team to design and run robust test strategies that support rapid iteration without sacrificing stability.

You’ll report to the CTO and collaborate closely with senior engineers as the company prepares to scale both its product and engineering function.

🚀 What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain automated test suites using Selenium (or Cypress)
  • Design, write, and manage test cases across new and existing features
  • Ensure comprehensive functional, integration, and regression test coverage
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure testability is baked into new builds
  • Participate in code reviews, advocating for strong QA practices
  • Manage test infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments
  • Execute manual exploratory testing where necessary
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and continuous quality improvements
  • Help shape the long-term QA strategy and tooling roadmap

🙋‍♀️ You Might Be...

  • A quality-focused engineer with a builder’s mindset and a passion for process
  • Someone who thrives in greenfield environments — ready to create systems from the ground up
  • Comfortable taking initiative, owning outcomes, and collaborating closely with devs
  • Excited to set the QA culture and scale it as the company grows
  • Motivated by impact and autonomy in a fast-moving product environment

⚙️ Tech & Tools

  • Core stack: PHP (legacy), C# backend in development, React + TypeScript frontend
  • AWS services and MySQL database
  • Test automation: Selenium (preferred) or Cypress
  • API testing: Postman or similar
  • CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
  • Agile collaboration tools and remote-first workflows

💡 Why This Role Rocks

  • Greenfield QA opportunity – build the strategy, choose the tools, set the standards
  • Join during a modernisation phase — influence how quality evolves across legacy and new systems
  • Supportive, senior engineering team that values quality and collaboration
  • Room to grow into a QA Lead as the team scales
  • Remote-friendly, flexible team culture (Australia-based timezone preferred)
  • Competitive salary: $110K–$130K AUD + super
  • Backed by strong investors and leadership — growing with purpose and momentum

📈 What’s Next

You’ll be joining at a formative stage — a chance to build, ship, and shape with a team that values autonomy, continuous learning, and getting things done right.
