Volunteer Front-End Developer (React / TypeScript / MongoDB Integration)

We’re Hiring: Front-End Developer (React / TypeScript / MongoDB Integration) This isn’t your average “build us a website” role. This is your chance to help shape the digital front-end of an orbital-scale ecosystem - a platform that will redefine how humans build, trade, and create in space. You’ll be joining the early dev team behind The Orbital Locker, helping to connect an elegant, high-performance user interface with a powerful MongoDB backend. If you can merge clean design with technical precision, we want to talk. What You’ll Do Build and refine a React-based front end (web and mobile) using TypeScript and modern component architecture. Integrate the UI with a MongoDB / Node.js backend, consuming APIs and managing data flow efficiently. Implement scalable, modular front-end systems - clean code, reusable components, predictable state management. Work closely with backend engineers to align data structures, endpoints, and authentication flows. Create visually compelling dashboards, graphs, and live data interfaces. Deliver smooth, responsive, and intuitive user experiences - speed and usability are non-negotiable. Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and rapid iteration cycles with our remote team. Help define the future design language and functionality of the Orbital Locker platform. What We’re Looking For Proven experience with React / TypeScript / JavaScript (ES6+). Strong understanding of frontend architecture, component lifecycles, and state management (Redux, Zustand, or similar). Practical experience integrating front ends with MongoDB or REST/GraphQL backends. Skilled in UI/UX optimization, responsive design, and performance tuning. Version control fluency (Git, GitHub, or GitLab). Strong communicator - able to collaborate across disciplines (design, backend, product). Portfolio or GitHub examples demonstrating your work on live or production projects. Bonus Points For Experience with Node.js / Express / Mongoose (full-stack capability is a plus). Familiarity with cloud-deployed backends (AWS, Firebase, or similar). Background in data visualization, AI-assisted UI, or space-related projects.
