About the Role
Ambience Healthcare is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead end-to-end design across high-priority product features. From early concepts and user research to polished, shipped experiences, you will help shape products that address complex healthcare workflows.
You will work closely with product managers, engineers, clinicians, and clinical AI research teams to turn user needs and technical challenges into intuitive experiences. This role also involves influencing product strategy, building scalable design systems, mentoring designers, and contributing wherever needed to deliver strong product outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end product design for high-priority features, from initial sketches through final implementation and launch.
- Develop a deep understanding of users, particularly clinicians, through embedded research, shadowing, and ongoing feedback.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and clinical AI research teams to shape the roadmap and simplify complex workflows.
- Translate technical and clinical requirements into clear, intuitive user experiences.
- Build scalable design systems that support rapid prototyping while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Mentor designers and contribute to design culture through product strategy discussions, design critiques, and postmortems.
- Take ownership of cross-functional improvements, including tooling and front-end design refinement.
- Contribute to product direction and execution, from design strategy to detailed visual polish.
Required Qualifications
- Experience shipping high-impact product design work in technically complex B2B SaaS environments.
- Proficiency across user research, UX, UI, prototyping, and design systems.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong communication skills when collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including engineers, clinicians, and executives.
- A strong focus on user experience, particularly in high-stakes and complex workflows.
- Ability to work with speed, experiment, and take action while maintaining design quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing products for clinicians, healthcare systems, or complex enterprise users.
- Hands-on experience with front-end styling or contributing to a design system repository.
- Experience mentoring designers or helping establish design teams and processes.
Salary & Benefits
- Base compensation: approximately $220,000–$260,000 per year, excluding equity and bonus.
