UX/UI Designer - AI Tooling

💼 This is a freelance contract role, with the potential to evolve into a longer-term collaboration as we scale.

Summary

We’re an AI startup building trusted evaluation tools for large language models. We’re looking for a UX/UI Designer to lead the redesign of both our landing page and backend interface. This is a critical design role where you’ll shape how our product is experienced by developers and data scientists.

Success in this role means delivering a clean, intuitive interface that simplifies complex information, aligns with our brand, and supports seamless user experience across our website and platform. You’ll work closely with our founding team and help define the visual identity of our core product.

Responsibilities

• Redesign the public-facing landing page, optimised for technical users
• Overhaul the backend dashboard UI, focusing on usability and clarity for data science workflows
• Develop a UI proposal (e.g. Figma, wireframes) and align it with internal stakeholders
• Either hand off the design for implementation or implement it yourself
• Ensure visual consistency across current and future assets (e.g. slide decks, documentation platforms)
• Collaborate with founders and engineers to iterate quickly and adapt to feedback

Qualifications

• Strong portfolio showing experience with AI tools, developer platforms, or scientific/data products
• Excellent skills in UI/UX tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
• Proven ability to turn complex functionality into clear, elegant interfaces
• Understanding of user-centred design principles and technical user needs
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present ideas clearly
• Experience working with early-stage startups or product teams is a plus
• (Bonus) Ability to implement designs in code (please indicate which technologies)
