3D Animation Artist - Freelance

This role involves creating a visually compelling 3D animated narrative centered on the ocean, featuring two main creature characters. The project is in the planning and research phase, offering the opportunity to shape the visual storytelling from the ground up. The animator will collaborate closely with the project director to interpret creative direction and bring the envisioned underwater world to life. This is a remote, project-based position with the potential for future collaborations based on project success.

Responsibilities

- Develop and animate two primary ocean creature characters using Blender

- Design and execute underwater environments and atmospheric effects

- Collaborate with the director to refine storyboards and visual concepts

- Ensure smooth, realistic character movement and environmental interactions

- Integrate feedback and iterate on animation sequences as needed

- Manage project files and maintain organized workflow for potential follow-up work

Skills and Requirements

- Proven experience in 3D animation, specifically with Blender

- Strong portfolio demonstrating character animation and environmental design

- Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into engaging visual narratives

- Proficiency in modeling, rigging, texturing, and lighting within Blender

- Excellent communication skills and responsiveness in a remote work setting

- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet project deadlines

- Availability for ongoing collaboration if the initial project is successful
