Application Developer – Remote Contract

This role involves developing a user-friendly building services application tailored for a family-run business operating in Essex, London, and Kent. The app will serve both residential and commercial clients, providing a seamless experience for users to request services, communicate with the business, and manage essential documents. The project is currently in the planning phase, offering the opportunity to contribute ideas and shape the app’s core features from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have experience in mobile app development and a keen understanding of intuitive UI/UX design for service-based platforms. Deliverables

• Design and develop a cross-platform mobile application (iOS, with potential for Android)
• Implement a secure login and authentication system for users
• Create a home screen with clear navigation for residential and commercial service options
• Develop subcategories for various building services, ensuring easy navigation
• Integrate a chat box feature for real-time communication on each job request
• Enable document storage functionality for reports and invoices per client
• Collaborate on app planning, providing technical guidance and creative input
• Ensure the app meets data privacy and security standards

Requirements

• Proven experience in mobile application development (iOS required; Android a plus)
• Proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Swift, Kotlin, React Native, Flutter)
• Strong UI/UX design skills with a focus on intuitive user journeys
• Experience integrating chat and document management features
• Familiarity with authentication and data security best practices
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and provide strategic input during planning
• Availability for ongoing collaboration and potential follow-up work
• Based in the UK or able to work within UK time zones preferred
