Freelance Animator – Children's YouTube Channel

This role focuses on creating engaging animated videos for a new children's YouTube channel centered around a mascot character, Lulu. The channel aims to deliver high-quality, baby- and toddler-friendly content that supports brand growth and future product expansion. The ideal candidate will bring Lulu to life through captivating animation, ensuring each video is visually appealing, developmentally appropriate, and optimized for young viewers. The animator will collaborate on both original and popular songs, contributing to the channel’s monetization and long-term vision. Deliverables

• Produce animated videos featuring the mascot Lulu, using either 3D or 2D animation techniques as appropriate for the content and audience engagement.
• Incorporate provided songs and voiceovers for original content; independently create music and voiceovers for popular songs such as 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.'
• Design visuals that minimize blue light exposure, ensuring all content is suitable for babies and toddlers and supports healthy sleep patterns.
• Collaborate on creative direction to align with the channel’s branding and future expansion into products like toys and coloring books.
• Deliver videos optimized for YouTube, adhering to platform guidelines and best practices for children’s content.

Requirements

• Proven experience in animation, with a strong portfolio of children’s content, preferably for YouTube or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in 3D and/or 2D animation software (e.g., Blender, Maya, After Effects, Toon Boom).
• Ability to create or source child-friendly music and voiceovers, especially for well-known nursery rhymes.
• Understanding of visual design principles that reduce blue light exposure and promote healthy viewing for young children.
• Creative mindset with attention to detail and a passion for early childhood entertainment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on a personal project.
• Availability to deliver content on a regular schedule as the channel grows.
