Freelance Game Designer

This role offers an exciting opportunity to design a new board game focused on fostering growth mindset, resilience, and emotional intelligence in children, tweens, and teens. The designer will play a key part in conceptualizing and visually developing a game that is both engaging and educational, aligning with the mission to empower young people through interactive play. Working fully remotely, you will collaborate closely to bring creative and insightful ideas to the game's visual and functional presentation, ensuring the final product is both impactful and enjoyable. Deliverables

• Develop initial concepts and mockups for the board game, including game mechanics, layout, and visual style
• Create detailed design assets such as game boards, cards, tokens, and packaging
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine gameplay and visual elements based on feedback
• Prepare production-ready files for manufacturing and digital presentation
• Ensure all designs are age-appropriate, visually appealing, and aligned with educational objectives

Requirements

• Proven experience in board game design or similar creative roles
• Strong portfolio demonstrating game design, illustration, or visual storytelling skills
• Ability to translate educational concepts into engaging gameplay and visuals
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork
• Understanding of child development, educational psychology, or experience designing for young audiences is a plus
• Availability to work remotely and meet project deadlines
