Freelance Illustrator – Children’s Book

This role is for a creative freelance illustrator to bring a children’s picture book to life, aimed at young readers aged 3–5. The project requires 14–16 vibrant, engaging, and child-friendly illustrations, including front and back covers. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio in children’s book illustration, demonstrating the ability to create simple, clear, and colorful visuals that captivate young audiences. You will collaborate closely with the author, interpreting scene and character descriptions to produce print-ready, high-resolution artwork suitable for both print and digital formats. Full commercial rights for publishing and marketing will be required, and a sample sketch or style sample will be requested before the project commences. Responsibilities

• Create 14–16 full-color illustrations, including front and back covers, tailored for children aged 3–5
• Develop artwork that is visually appealing, simple, and engaging for young readers
• Interpret provided scene and character descriptions to produce accurate and imaginative illustrations
• Deliver print-ready, high-resolution files suitable for both print and ebook formats
• Provide a sample sketch or style sample prior to starting the full project
• Collaborate with the author to ensure illustrations align with the book’s vision and requirements
• Ensure all artwork is delivered within agreed timelines and meets quality standards
• Grant full commercial rights for publishing and marketing use
