ZBrush Character Artist

A ZBrush Character Artist is required to design and sculpt SHIVA5, a character inspired by the 5 Elements of Hip-Hop. The project combines Hip-Hop culture with high-level 3D character design, accessories, and props, which will be adapted into both digital and physical outputs. Deliverables will range from stickers and posters to desktop-scale 3D prints and large-scale museum fabrications up to 9 feet. The role requires creating multiple male and female character variations alongside accessory sets such as sneakers, hats, hair, and turntables that authentically capture the culture’s vibrancy. Final assets must be prepared for both 3D workflows (ZBrush, STL/OBJ) and 2D outputs (layered files for print and branding). This is a freelance, remote position with the potential for ongoing work following the successful completion of the initial project.

Responsibilities

• Sculpt multiple character variations (male and female) in ZBrush with production-ready topology
• Design and model Hip-Hop-inspired accessories and props including sneakers, hats, hairstyles, and turntables
• Deliver 3D assets in formats suitable for printing (STL/OBJ) and digital workflows
• Prepare layered 2D files optimized for branding, posters, and other print applications
• Collaborate closely with the creative director to ensure cultural authenticity and stylistic consistency
• Ensure assets are scalable for both desktop-sized 3D prints and large-scale museum installations

Skills and Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in ZBrush with a strong portfolio of character and prop sculpting
• Deep understanding of human anatomy and form for stylized character design
• Experience preparing assets for 3D printing and physical fabrication workflows
• Ability to create clean, production-ready topology suitable for scaling
• Proficiency in exporting layered files for 2D rendering and print design
• Strong creative sensibility with an appreciation of Hip-Hop culture and aesthetics
• Remote work capability with consistent communication and timely delivery of milestones
