Introduction
CieL Dining is a unique fine dining restaurant located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, designed by Eigh-T Architects. This ambitious project, completed in 2024, is the brainchild of acclaimed chef Viet Hong and his partner Thanh Liem. The restaurant's name, derived from the French word for sky, reflects the owners' experiences in Paris.
Architectural Concept
The architecture of CieL Dining features a defamiliarized pitched roof, creatively oriented to guide visitors towards the entrance. This design choice creates an intimate atmosphere while contrasting warm elements like oak doors and plywood panels against a more austere structure. The building's unique five-sided form allows visitors to view three sides simultaneously, enhancing the spatial experience.
Interior Design
Inside, the restaurant boasts a tropical garden backdrop, with a central Oculus that serves as the main concept of the project. The tilted cylinder design elongates the light well, allowing natural light to flood the space throughout the day. The open kitchen and counter dining area invite customers to witness the culinary process firsthand, creating an immersive dining experience.
Dining Experience
The ground floor features various dining options, including common and private areas, with a focus on customer interaction. The custom-made kitchen fit-out allows chefs to showcase their culinary artistry, while the use of natural materials creates a warm and inviting ambiance.
