Clanin Creative's Remarkable Flag Design: A Tribute to Illinois Agriculture

Clanin Creative, a design agency based in Champaign, has made headlines by being selected as one of 10 finalists by the Illinois Flag Commission. Out of a staggering 5,000 submissions, their design stands out not just for its aesthetics but for its deep respect for agriculture, which is the heart of Illinois' economy.
A Unique Design Perspective
Scott Clanin, the Owner and Director of Clanin Creative, expressed their surprise at making it to the finals. He emphasized that regardless of the contest's outcome, this recognition is a significant milestone for their agency.
Colleen Hayes, the graphic designer behind the winning submission, along with her team, aimed to craft a design that is both simple and timeless. Their concept pays homage to the farmers of Illinois, highlighting the importance of agriculture in the state’s identity.
Voting Process
Voting for these finalists is set to begin in January. Clanin Creative assures that the competition is conducted in a transparent manner, with no taxpayer money involved. Residents will have the opportunity to vote not only for the finalists but also for the current state flag or two previous designs.
This initiative underscores the community's engagement in choosing a flag that truly represents Illinois and its values.
