Discover the Stunning Transformation of a Milanese Apartment: Living Without Boundaries

A Dynamic Living Space in Milan

Completed in 2024 in Milan, Italy, this apartment renovation showcases a dynamic environment where the main volumes are strategically arranged around a central living area, which serves as the vibrant heart of the home. The project, designed by A I M, reflects the owners' desire for an open space that fosters social interactions, making it ideal for welcoming friends and family.

Thoughtful Renovation

The previous configuration of the apartment had undergone several changes over the years, resulting in a space that lacked its full potential. The renovation focused on opening up the living room, maintaining only the reinforced concrete load-bearing structures. This open-plan design offers breathtaking views of the city from two sides, highlighting various finishes throughout the space.

Architectural Highlights

Upon entering, a full-height wooden boiserie with a diagonal rhythm leads the gaze towards the city. This feature conceals access to the first sleeping area and the service bathroom while extending above a functional kitchen, which includes back-painted glass elements and stone surfaces. A wooden and stone island with flamed iron details enhances the dining and living areas.

Adaptable Furnishings

Special care was taken in selecting furniture elements designed for flexible configurations. The large modular sofa, centrally positioned, encourages socialization while also providing spaces for relaxation. Every detail, from layout to finishes, was crafted to enhance the quality of life for the owners, balancing aesthetics and functionality.
