KPF Unveils the Ziraat Bank Headquarters

Architecture studio KPF has unveiled the Ziraat Bank Headquarters, featuring a pair of skyscrapers that stand as the centerpiece of the Istanbul International Financial Center in Turkey.

Rising 40 and 46 storeys, the towers consist of interconnected glass structures that widen at their tops, linked by a podium at their base. The entire complex spans 450,000 square meters and incorporates the bank's headquarters, an auditorium, retail spaces, and underground parking.

The towers are characterized by horizontal bands that define each office level. The podium's exterior is adorned with ornate screens, a nod to Islamic architecture, enhancing the visual appeal.

A Seamless Blend of Function and Design

Designed to extend the district's public space, the podium features retail space accessed through courtyard entrances. KPF's design principal, Mustafa Chehabeddine, stated, "Ziraat Bank Headquarters is a modern building with deep roots in Istanbul's physical and cultural context."

Inside, the headquarters boasts a bright atrium lit by expansive glass facades, featuring large structural columns and rich stone and wooden details. An eight-storey atrium connects various parts of the building through a series of bridges.

The auditorium is designed with curving panels of CNC-milled limestone, creating an intimate atmosphere enhanced by timber accents that improve acoustics.

Amenities and Shared Spaces

The towers are equipped with office spaces for the bank, which include shared amenities such as prayer rooms and landscaped roof terraces for communal outdoor activities.
