Celebrating Innovative Home Improvements

Now in its 15th edition, the annual Don't Move, Improve! awards program aims to celebrate the most innovative home improvements in London. Over 150 houses were entered, with a peer review panel refining the list to 14 shortlisted projects selected by the judging panel, including writer Anna White and urban designer Ed Jarvis.

The jury praised the diversity of scale in the shortlisted projects, emphasizing that renovations and extensions of all sizes can significantly improve a home. Mary Duggan, founder of Mary Duggan Architects, noted that the projects demonstrated exemplary approaches towards material considerations, prioritizing existing fabric and energy performance.

Diverse Project Types

The shortlisted projects include a range of typologies from whole house remodelling to space extensions and small intricate reconfigurations. Federico Ortiz, head of program at NLA, highlighted that these projects offer inspiration and practical solutions for Londoners looking to improve their homes.
