Explore the Stunning Selenite Retreat: A Monochrome Oasis for Wellness in Québec

A Monochrome Marvel in Nature
Nestled in the lush forests of Québec, the Selenite retreat designed by Canadian studio Naturehumaine showcases a striking monochrome exterior crafted from white-painted wooden planks and matching-colored metal roof panels.

Inspired by the Selenite Mineral
Named after the crystalline mineral believed to possess soothing properties, the retreat embodies the clients' vision of merging ecological architecture with wellness and unique resort experiences. Studio founder Stéphane Rasselet shared that the design concept was to create an inclusive resting place that promotes well-being and rejuvenation.
Architectural Features
The structure spans 36 x 36 feet (10.9 x 10.9 meters) and features two prism-shaped roofs that are oriented in opposing directions, enhanced by square skylights. A wooden ramp leads to a sheltered entrance, highlighting a full-height glass door that invites guests inside.

Inside, the retreat maintains a monochromatic color scheme with white walls and grey-toned flooring, complemented by wooden cabinetry. The layout includes two bedrooms with expansive glass openings that frame the surrounding greenery, along with a shared bathroom illuminated by a skylight.
Luxurious Amenities
The open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area are designed to maximize natural light through large glazed openings and skylights. Sliding doors extend the living spaces to a spacious decked terrace, featuring a spa area and outdoor seating.

The retreat is equipped with a steam bath, cold bath, sauna, and salt room, all designed to create a complete relaxation circuit. Rasselet emphasized the importance of using healthy finishing materials for the well-being of the guests.
