Explore the Stunning Sun-Sculpted Skyscraper by Zaha Hadid Architects in Shenzhen

A Glimpse of the Future in Shenzhen

Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) is known for its striking skyscrapers, and their latest project, the Shenzhen Institute of Financial Technology, continues this legacy. Currently under construction, this futuristic tower stands at 199 meters (652 feet) tall, making it a significant addition to Shenzhen's skyline, nestled near the Ping An Finance Centre.

Innovative Design Inspired by the Sun

The building's unique sculpted facade is designed to interact harmoniously with sunlight. ZHA explains that they have carefully mapped the annual paths of the Sun's rays to optimize sunlight exposure for the surrounding areas, including streets and public plazas. This thoughtful design incorporates high-performance thermal insulation and self-shading external fins to mitigate solar heat gain, ensuring that the tower remains efficient and comfortable.

Smart and Sustainable Interior

Inside, the tower boasts a spacious layout of 76,000 sq m (almost 820,000 sq ft) across 46 floors, designed to house R&D facilities, laboratories, and collaborative spaces centered around several atria filled with greenery to improve air quality. Additionally, the rooftop garden will provide sheltered areas for events and relaxation.

Equipped with a smart building system powered by AI, the tower will adapt to the occupants' patterns, optimizing heating and cooling for maximum comfort and energy efficiency.

As of now, the completion date remains unannounced, but the anticipation for this architectural marvel continues to grow.
