Explore the Stunning Transformation of Studio Idéal: A Photographer's Dream Space in Montreal

A Modern Studio for Culinary Photography
Completed in 2023, the Studio Idéal located in Montreal's Ville-Marie borough is a remarkable renovation of an old industrial building into a modern studio designed specifically for photographers, emphasizing culinary artistry.

Design Features
The studio spans 4,500 sq ft over two stories, maintaining a balance of functionality and charm:
- Main Floor: Features 21-foot ceilings with an open layout, a striking backdrop wall, a lounge area, and a fully equipped open kitchen. Details such as ample storage and thoughtfully designed washrooms enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
- Industrial Elements: Newly sealed concrete floors and warm white painted masonry walls reflect the building's industrial roots.
Upper Level Amenities
On the upper level, an office space includes workstations, a kitchen, a meeting room, and an additional washroom. The mezzanine draws inspiration from the whimsical style of Ricardo Bofill, featuring warm camel-colored stucco walls.
Kitchen Design
The heart of the studio is the open kitchen, showcasing:
- Stainless steel millwork with a unique hand-made matte finish.
- Cream-colored concrete slabs for countertops and backsplash.
- A bespoke stove hood crafted from natural brass, serving as a centerpiece.

Lighting and Ambiance
Clusters of oversized light globes hang above the dining area and lounge, casting a warm glow that provides comfort and serenity, blending old-world charm with contemporary design.
