Renovation Overview
The University of Houston's Guy V. Lewis Development Center has undergone a $4 million renovation by DLR Group ahead of the 2024-25 college basketball season. This facility is particularly noteworthy as the Cougars secured a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

Facility Features
Spanning 53,000 square feet, the center, which originally opened in 2016, provides equal amenities for both the men's and women's basketball programs. It includes:
- Team offices
- Practice courts
- Sports medicine and performance spaces
Design Elements
The renovation design by DLR Group, constructed by Whiting-Turner, incorporates elements from the Jordan Brand, which sponsors Houston basketball. Key design features include:
- A wall of Air Jordans
- Extensive use of the Jumpman logo in the locker rooms
- State-of-the-art recovery and sports science areas, including nap pods
The Houston Cougars are one of only eight NCAA teams sponsored by Jordan Brand, making this renovation even more significant.

Conclusion
This renovation not only enhances the facilities for training and recovery but also reflects the prestige of the programs at the University of Houston as they advance in collegiate basketball.
