Introducing PIX, the Shape-Shifting Mascot
The UK has unveiled its exciting mascot for the upcoming Expo 2025 Osaka, named PIX. This innovative character is designed to be dynamic and versatile, capable of transforming into various shapes, including an aeroplane, film camera, sheep, submarine, and even the Loch Ness monster.

A Symbol of Imagination and Innovation
PIX, referencing pixels, is crafted from red, blue, and white building blocks. The design aims to evoke the spirit of childhood imagination, building, and innovation. As the UK commissioner general for Expo 2025, Carolyn Davidson, stated, "Born from a child's imagination and their toy building blocks, PIX symbolizes the building blocks of innovation."

Encouraging Creativity
Davidson further explained, "Our dynamic, fun, and knowledgeable mascot takes shape in endless combinations... from teapots to rockets... representing how ideas come together to build something great." PIX encourages everyone to see the potential of their ideas, no matter how small, to transform the world.

The UK Pavilion at Expo 2025
The Expo will occur on Yumeshima Island, Osaka, from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The UK will prominently feature a pavilion designed by Woo Architects, showcasing PIX and providing visitors with fun facts about the UK and Japan.

Additionally, the updated pavilion design pays homage to the innovations of Ada Lovelace, featuring perforated aluminium panels. The Expo is being master-planned by Sou Fujimoto Architects, creating a vast wooden ring that encircles the national pavilions.
Other national pavilions revealed include innovative designs from Saudi Arabia and the USA, showcasing the global spirit of creativity and collaboration at Expo 2025.
