About The Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Web Designer to join our dynamic team on a contract or project basis. As a Web Designer at AM Digital Designs, you will be the architect of our clients’ digital storefronts, responsible for creating visually stunning, highly responsive websites that align with brand guidelines and business objectives. Your role bridges the gap between creative visual design and technical web development, ensuring that each website not only looks great but also functions seamlessly across devices and platforms.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with Content Strategists, Full-Stack Developers, and clients to deliver websites that are optimized for user experience and conversions. Your expertise in responsive design, CMS platforms, and front-end development will be crucial to delivering projects on time and to the highest standards. This role offers the flexibility of remote work or hybrid arrangements, allowing you to contribute your skills from anywhere while working within a collaborative team environment.
Day-to-day responsibilities include designing layout mockups in Figma, implementing these designs within CMS platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, or Webflow, and optimizing assets for performance and accessibility. Your work will directly impact our clients’ online success, making this a highly rewarding opportunity for a passionate web design professional.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess 4 to 6 years of dedicated web design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing responsive websites that have been successfully launched. You should have a deep understanding of responsive design principles, grid systems, modern UI patterns, and web typography. Hands-on familiarity with HTML and CSS is essential, along with proficiency in popular CMS page builders such as WordPress with Elementor, Webflow, or Shopify.
Additionally, you should be capable of translating static Figma mockups into fully functional websites, ensuring design fidelity and technical accuracy. Knowledge of basic technical SEO principles, including H1 structures and meta tagging, is a plus. Excellent communication skills in English are required, as all project management and internal communications are conducted in this language.
Responsibilities
- Create visually compelling and highly responsive website layouts in Figma that enhance user experience and drive conversions.
- Implement designs within CMS platforms like WordPress, Shopify, or Webflow, applying themes, styling with CSS, and building out digital spaces without compromising brand consistency.
- Collaborate with Content Strategists to ensure seamless integration of copy and layout, and coordinate with Full-Stack Developers to communicate technical requirements effectively.
- Optimize all web graphics, videos, and images for fast load times, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility standards.
- Ensure websites are mobile-friendly, accessible, and aligned with current UI/UX best practices.
- Stay updated on emerging web design trends, tools, and best practices to continually enhance project quality and efficiency.
While this is a contract or project-based role, we offer competitive hourly rates ranging from $35 to $50, or flat project fees depending on scope and complexity.
