Social Media & Content Creator - Volunteer

Help us create warm, neuroaffirming content across LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. You’ll design simple posts and can explore short video if that’s your strength. Flexible, well-supported role with a clear weekly rhythm.

What difference will you make?

You’ll help BrightPaths show up consistently and accessibly across our channels, sharing content that helps children, families and schools feel understood.

As part of a small team, your work will build on what’s already there and help us improve how we communicate, making our voice clearer, warmer and more consistent over time.

Your content will help reduce stigma around neurodivergence and school distress, and make our work visible to the families, carers and professionals who need it.

Over time, this strengthens relationships with partner schools and helps more people find support that feels right for them.

In return, you’ll gain experience working with a values-led organisation, build a strong portfolio with meaningful content, and see your content help people feel less alone.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who enjoys creating thoughtful, relatable content and can work within a simple, supported process.

You’ll likely have some experience creating social media content (captions and visuals) and feel comfortable using tools like Canva.

You should be able to write clearly in plain English, in a way that feels warm, human and easy to understand. Being reliable and able to work independently with a clear brief is important.

Bonus experience includes short-form video, scheduling tools or content calendars, but this isn’t essential.

Lived experience of ADHD, autism, mental wellbeing, or supporting a child is valued, but not required.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be part of a small team shaping how BrightPaths shows up online.

You will

• Create simple posts for LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram (around 2 per week), working from a shared content plan
• Design clear, accessible visuals in Canva using existing templates and brand assets
• Write plain-English captions in a warm, human tone
• Build on what’s already there, improving consistency, clarity and engagement over time
• Share ideas and creative input where it feels natural. This is welcomed, not expected
  
  

Short-form video is a bonus rather than a requirement. If that’s your strength, there’s space to explore it. If not, that’s completely fine.

You’ll be supported by a small team, with clear guidance, templates and an editorial sign-off process in place.
