Senior Data Engineer (Redshift)

🚀 We’re Hiring: Data Engineer (AWS & Redshift a MUST) | 100% remote | Anywhere in Australia | $100K-$140K base + super permanent full time***Please don't apply if you don't have Redshift experience***

Our client is seeking a Revenue Operations Cloud Data Engineer to build and own the data infrastructure that powers revenue measurement, forecasting, and growth across a rapidly scaling financial services organization.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone passionate about designing cloud-native data platforms, building reliable pipelines, and creating a single source of truth for revenue operations.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain production-grade data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver revenue, billing, AUM, and advisor performance data.
• Architect and optimize a Redshift-based data warehouse supporting analytics, forecasting, and operational reporting.
• Create Grafana dashboards and monitoring systems for revenue KPIs, pipeline health, data freshness, and platform observability.
• Develop ML-ready datasets and feature pipelines in SageMaker to support revenue forecasting, advisor capacity planning, and client segmentation.
• Implement automated data quality frameworks including validation, anomaly detection, lineage tracking, and SLA monitoring.
• Integrate data from CRM platforms, custodians, billing systems, advisor tools, and third-party sources into a unified revenue data model.
• Partner closely with Finance, Growth, Advisor Success, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver reliable, self-service data products.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

• 5+ years building production data pipelines and cloud data warehouse infrastructure.
• Expert-level Python for ETL/ELT development, API integrations, data transformations, and automation.
• Deep expertise with Amazon Redshift, including schema design, query optimization, materialized views, distribution and sort key strategies, and workload management.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience, including performance tuning, indexing, partitioning, and supporting analytical workloads.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including Glue, Step Functions, Lambda, S3, EventBridge, and IAM.
• Advanced SQL skills across complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and incremental loading patterns.
• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, slowly changing dimensions, fact/dimension tables, and schema evolution.
• Experience operating production data platforms with monitoring, alerting, incident response, and operational ownership.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Infrastructure-as-Code experience using CDK or CloudFormation.
• Streaming and near real-time data processing with Kinesis, Kafka, or DynamoDB Streams.
• Experience with dbt or similar analytics engineering frameworks.
• Financial services domain expertise, including AUM calculations, fee reconciliation, custodial data, and advisor compensation models.
• Data governance, compliance, and security experience including PII handling, access controls, audit logging, and regulatory retention requirements.
• Apache Airflow for complex workflow orchestration.
• Cost optimization experience across Redshift and S3-based data lake environments.
