Role Description This is a part-time remote role for a Web Engineer. The Web Engineer will design, develop, and maintain web applications that support the institution’s digital presence and internal processes. Day-to-day activities include implementing front-end interfaces, building and integrating back-end services, optimizing performance, and ensuring security and reliability of web platforms. The role also involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, troubleshooting technical issues, and delivering incremental improvements to existing systems. Documentation of code, version control usage, and adherence to best practices in software development are expected.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Front-End Development and Web Development, including modern frameworks, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development for creating and maintaining APIs, data access layers, and server-side logic for Web Applications.
- Experience in Software Development practices such as version control, testing, code review, and continuous integration.
- Knowledge of web security principles, performance optimization, and accessibility standards.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time schedules, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with professional or institutional websites and familiarity with content management systems is an advantage.
