As we expand our product range, we’re looking for a Product Designer who feels genuinely drawn to this space. Someone who sees children’s products not as “toys,” but as tools for creativity, growth and family connection.

About the Role

This is a remote, autonomous role for a mid-level designer (4+ years’ experience) who can independently lead product development from concept through to first production, with occasional travel to Geelong/Surf Coast required for in-person collaboration and sample review sessions.

The position is Full Time or 4 days p/wk according to the right applicant

You’ll help evolve our existing range into new formats and develop entirely new products — from creative play tools to thoughtful packaging solutions.

You won’t just be sketching ideas. You’ll be shaping products that are:

• Beautiful but commercially grounded

• Innovative but manufacturable

• Premium but cost-conscious

• Creative but practical

You’ll collaborate closely with the founder and lead supplier conversations directly, helping bring ideas to life in a way that works in the real world.

Who This Role Is For

You might be right for this if you:

• Have 4+ years’ experience designing consumer products

• Are comfortable working independently and remotely

• Care deeply about the details — form, materials, colour and finish

• Understand that good design must also work commercially

• Are curious about how things are made, not just how they look

• Feel genuinely excited about designing for children and families

Experience with CAD (SolidWorks or similar), working with manufacturers, and navigating production realities is important — but what matters most is that you bring both creativity and pragmatism.

Mandarin language skills or experience working with overseas suppliers would be a strong advantage, but not essential.

• New product formats (new versions and formats of existing products)

• Innovative but grounded product extensions inspired by existing market ideas, refined to align with Steiner/Waldorf & Montessori Principles

• Packaging and accessory design

• Future expansion into moulded components, textiles and new material formats

• QA and documentation systems that strengthen product consistency over time
