Job Title: Senior Product Designer

Company: High-Growth SaaS Platform (Experimentation & Product Analytics)

Full-Time HireLocation: 100% Remote (U.S. West Coast Preferred)

Reports To: Head of Design

Mission: Helping product teams build better software through experimentation

Salary: $150K–$170K DOE, + Equity + Full Benefits

Who We Are

We are Design Citizen, a human-centered talent management firm working with organizations to create innovative, inclusive, and sustainable business solutions through design.

The Opportunity

Our client is a Series A, startup, that is an open-source feature flagging and A/B testing platform trusted by engineering and product teams who move fast and care about evidence. They recently closed a $22M Series A and they're building the team that will define what the product becomes next.

The platform is technical by nature — used primarily by developers and data-savvy product teams who configure experiments, interpret results, and make high-stakes decisions inside a deeply layered UI. This isn't a product you simplify. It's a product you ma_ke legi_ble — and that's a harder, more interesting design problem.

What you'll be doing

You'll own design end-to-end across core product areas — from the first conversation about a problem to shipped, polished UI. That means defining requirements alongside engineers, untangling complex configuration flows, and making fast, well-reasoned decisions without a PM to hand things off to. You'll work in a squad model with engineers and data scientists, contribute to a growing design system and component library in Figma, and help establish the interaction patterns that make a dense, evolving product feel coherent.

You'll present your thinking clearly, defend your decisions with rationale, and know when to push for the ideal solution and when to ship and iterate.

What we're looking for

  • 6+ years of product design with a portfolio that shows you can handle complex, technical, or layered UI — not just consumer or mobile work.
  • Demonstrated 0→1 experience with shipped proof. We want to see what you built, not just what you explored.
  • Strong visual design bar and the ability to turn dense, multi-state workflows into experiences that feel clear and learnable.
  • Comfort designing for technical users — developers, data scientists, power users who will notice when something doesn't make sense.
  • Experience with dashboards, data models, permissions systems, configuration-heavy flows, or multi-step technical UI
  • Fast, structured communication. You ask good questions early, flag blockers clearly, and don't wait to be told what to do next.
  • Systems thinking that supports delivery — you understand component logic and contribute to consistency without making systems the end goal.
  • High autonomy and a strong POV. You can propose alternatives when pushed back on and hold your ground when it matters.

Why this role

This is a small team that moves fast, trusts its designers, and builds in the open. There's no PM layer between you and the problem — which means more ambiguity, more influence, and more satisfaction when things ship. Their Head of Design, has been intentional about how she's built this team. You'll have a real seat at the table from day one.

Remote-first. Competitive salary, equity, and benefits. A culture that treats people like adults.
