About Us

We’re Digital Practice, a fast-growing SaaS company transforming how veterinary practices communicate with their clients. Our web-based, multi-channel communications platform supports over 1,000 active veterinary practices across the UK, Europe, the US, and Australia, from independent clinics to large corporate groups.

With a team of around 50 talented professionals, we’re driven by a shared mission: to help vet practices deliver clearer, more effective communication that improves pet care and strengthens client relationships.

Why Join Us?

We’re building meaningful technology that directly impacts animal health and welfare. You’ll join a collaborative, supportive team working on exciting projects with real-world impact. This is a chance to bring your leadership skills to a role where you’ll shape QA strategy, drive engineering excellence, and make a visible difference.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Lead QA Engineer to take ownership of our QA function: overseeing strategy, process, and execution. You’ll lead a small, distributed team of three QA engineers (UK and offshore), reporting directly to the CTO.

This is a hands-on leadership role: we want someone who’s equally comfortable setting QA strategy, mentoring team members, and rolling up their sleeves for some manual testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the QA team (currently 3 members)
  • Define, evolve, and own the QA strategy (both manual and automated)
  • Build and maintain scalable test frameworks for our platform
  • Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and best practices
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams on release planning, feature testing, and issue triage
  • Ensure high-quality delivery of features across multiple web-based systems

What We're Looking ForMust-Have Experience

  • 5+ years experience managing QA teams in software companies
  • Strong background in manual and automated testing of web-based SaaS platforms
  • Ability to design and implement robust QA processes from the ground up
  • Track record of leading QA efforts in cross-functional teams

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with the veterinary industry or healthcare software
  • Experience with distributed or remote QA teams
  • Previous hands-on experience with Jest, PHPUnit or similar testing frameworks

Our Tech Stack

We support a range of systems and services, primarily built in:

  • Backend: NestJS (TypeScript), Laravel (PHP)
  • Frontend: Angular (TypeScript)
  • Infrastructure: AWS
  • Testing: Jest (for TypeScript), PHPUnit (for PHP)

Perks & Benefits

  • Flexible working hours
  • Remote-first culture with monthly in-person meetups
  • £40/month wellness allowance (e.g., gym, yoga, mindfulness)
  • Salary of £40,000 – £70,000, depending on experience
  • Location: Remote (with one day per month in London)
  • Type: Full-time
  • Working Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (flexible)

Interested?

If you’re a QA leader who thrives on autonomy, impact, and collaboration, and you’re ready to help scale a meaningful SaaS platform, we’d love to hear from you.
