Who we are

Employment Hero is on a mission to make employment easier and more valuable for everyone. Our Employment Operating System brings hiring, HR, payroll and benefits into an all-in-one solution.

Since our inception in 2014, we've scaled to a $2 billion valuation and gained a presence in 6 countries globally - Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, the UK and Canada. We now service over 300,000 businesses and more than 2 million employees.

The EH Way

At Employment Hero, we're proud of our unique DNA, which we call The EH Way.

  • We are Mission First - everything we do (from what we work on, to how we allocate capital and where we focus) is driven by our Mission
  • We are Remote First - we champion a remote environment with a preference for asynchronous communication and a high degree of autonomy
  • We are AI First - we are committed to using AI to accelerate our mission; AI is not just a tool, it's a fundamental part of how we operate, innovate, and scale
  • We are Apolitical - we do not take a position on political or social topics, unless it relates to our Mission
  • We Live by Our Values - we role model our values 100% of the time
  • We Expect High Performance - we set a high standard and we're not satisfied with being average This role

As our Global SEO/GEO Lead but will own SEO performance and outcomes for Australia, New Zealand, UK, Canada, SEA and new markets. You will own, develop, and lead our global SEO and GEO/AEO strategy, setting the long-term vision for how we grow organic performance across large, complex, enterprise-level websites. This is a senior strategic role with hands-on execution where needed, combining deep SEO expertise, technical capability, and a forward-thinking approach to AI search.

You will build and refine scalable SEO systems and processes - from audits, keyword research, and content brief creation to on-page optimisation, link building, and digital PR - while constantly looking for opportunities to automate and improve how we operate. You'll guide and mentor an SEO team, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure our roadmap is delivered on time and aligned with business goals.

We're looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about SEO, curious and experimental with GEO/AEO, and experienced in fast-paced SaaS, marketplace, or high-performing agency environments. You will bring a proven track record of delivering SEO growth at scale, exceptional organisational and communication skills, a can-do attitude, and the creativity to think outside the box. Ultimately, you will champion "The EH Way," push boundaries in search, and proactively find new ways for us to win in both traditional SEO and the emerging world of AI-powered discovery.

You will

  • Own global SEO/GEO performance by developing and executing the strategy to significantly scale organic growth, with the primary KPI of increasing employer and jobseeker organic acquisition across key markets: Australia, NZ, UK and Canada.
  • You will be the global owner of SEO/GEO and the key advisor to Growth Marketing and Product on all organic growth initiatives.
  • Set a clear growth vision/roadmap with KPIS and requirements that are customer/persona-focused.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 2-3 SEO specialists who execute day-to-day delivery, while you focus on strategy, leadership, and high-impact initiatives, rolling up your sleeves to jump into the CMS and troubleshoot or unblock complex SEO issues when needed.
  • To educate and evangelise SEO/GEO effectively across our business and within cross-functional teams including product, engineering, PR and content.
  • Conduct regular audits of our websites in order to diagnose SEO issues, and work with the SEO and product/engineering teams to fix these.
  • Create new systems and processes that leverage tools and AI to automate SEO tasks and projects including audits, keyword research, site crawls, backlink acquisition and their implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with the website, design and conversion teams in the creation of new content hubs and landing pages that are both SEO and CRO optimised to ensure best UX/UI/conversion principles are followed.
  • Develop backlink/AI citation acquisition strategies and manage team members for its delivery, from outreach including prospecting and building relationships with journalists and content editors to build new links.
  • Work with our PR and content marketing teams to brainstorm new content ideas, conduct keyword research, produce content briefs and ensure our quarterly content plans have SEO first in mind.
  • Drive the SEO/GEO reporting and analytics for the global SEO channel. Regularly monitor Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Profound, Ahrefs and SEMRush and other analytics tools for traffic fluctuations and insights. Report on SEO results verbally and regularly to the business.
  • Keep an eye on new and upcoming SEO/AI search/GEO trends, Google Algorithm updates, platforms and platform features to drive strategy.
