Company Description Every Daughter Matters is an Australian-based nonprofit working to stop human trafficking before it happens in Nepal. Through local partners, we operate border surveillance booths and emergency shelters across Nepal, strategically intercepting young women at risk of being trafficked and offering them immediate safety, care and vocational training or scholarships for a brighter future.
Role Description The Strategic Communications Manager is a 0.6FTE, remote role with occasional national and international travel opportunities. This role provides you with the opportunity to shape Every Daughter Matters' brand, storytelling and digital engagement.
Reporting to the CEO, you’ll develop and lead an integrated communications strategy that grows our visibility, supporter engagement and impact. You’ll manage a Content and Engagement Coordinator and oversee external consultants and agencies as needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading Every Daughter Matters' communications strategy and advise the CEO on brand positioning, public engagement and digital marketing.
- Strengthening Every Daughter Matters' brand, voice and reputation, upholding ethical, trauma-informed storytelling standards.
- Driving our storytelling practices — written, photo, video and campaign content — including collecting content from staff, partners and supporters in Australia and Nepal.
- Leading fundraising and awareness campaigns across digital channels, working closely with leadership and fundraising teams.
- Overseeing and executing impact reports, campaign messaging and Board communications.
- Managing external consultants and budgets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications, marketing, media or a related field.
- 3+ years proven experience building and delivering organisational communications and/or fundraising strategies.
- Background in not-for-profit, advocacy, international development or human rights communications.
- Strong campaign, storytelling and supporter engagement experience.
- Solid grounding in SEO, SEM, email marketing and digital analytics.
- Commitment to ethical, trauma-informed storytelling.
- Alignment with our Christian ethos and safeguarding framework.
- Hold valid working rights in Australia, as visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Desirable
- Experience in anti-trafficking or modern slavery programs.
- Cross-cultural communication skills.
- Understanding of safeguarding obligations in international NGO settings.
- Media relations experience.
